Children can swing by linking right elbows, holding two hands straight across, or with crossed hands (right in right and left in left). They walk or skip around and around each other, revolving clockwise and balancing their weight. More experienced dancers use the ballroom position, doing either a walking or a “buzz step” swing (watch the Contra Dance chapter on our Chimes of Dunkirk DVD to see the “buzz step” swing).
